Getting ready for Christ-mas

Got the tree up and several of the small santa's and deco stuff. Still need to get the outside lights up, and the spots but made a lot of headroom just getting the tree done LOL. It is looking so inviting coming up to the house with the room done we are just loving it !!! Can not wait to get the room trimmed out and finished. Posted by Picasa

Thanksgiving fun in the sun

Allison is giving Cameron a ride with cousin Quintin in the background and baby Kendall digging in the dirt. Cousin Maggie is riding the electric 4wheeler in the lower left corner... Posted by Picasa

The girls have a blast riding 4 wheeler

Lindsey came over for the weekend and is riding the four wheeler around the trails and yard. She is giving Cameron a ride here coming around the side yard. The tree's have just about lost all the leaves allready, and the summer grass is all dead. Look's like it could use a new re seeding LOL. Today it was about 50 degree's and a little chilly but the sun was warm enough to ride a little. Tonight we were going to go to the Newport News Park light drive (pictures might not show up) which reminds me, I really need a good digital camera for Christmas hint hint. Posted by Picasa

another long day

Another Day closer to completion. Today i of course had to go to work getting up at the usual 4am and was back home at 6pm to devour some leftover pizza and finish the carpet. Well carpet is done and then after much discusion, I started working on the steps. The new steps are just cut and ready to work on however the nice finished run boards are in on the old steps and are awaiting the kicker boards and sides. I used a set bit to drill the tap for wood screws and will fill the holes with wood filler, stain and finish the step. Tommorrow we hope to find people to get our bar moved into the new room as we will need at least 2 additional good men to left the huge pieces to the new room... hoping for a miracle nuff said larry Posted by Picasa

It almost killed me

Well the texture paint is finished and still drying. Just finished laying the padding down and taping the seams. Then we fought this roll of carpet into it's final resting place. I just couldn't do any more. Allison did 90% of the green paint on the shelves and the west wall. I helped her with the cutting in a little at the top of the wall and edges. I started trying to stretch the carpet into place and trim it around the doors and such when the pizza man showed up. It is over for this weekend, I am just done for now, nuff said. Posted by Picasa

The Big Push

The texture paint is half up and the room has been cleaned up. The doorwasy have been framed up and they are ready for the stairs to been built and trimed out. The plan for today is to finish the texture and begin painting the new wall and shelves. Hopefully the carpet will go in tonight for the finale. Allsion was hopeing to start moving in furniture and watching a movie LOL ROFL he he he we will see.

The project floorplans

In this scaned photo we have the slightly modified floorplans for the house. The left side of the floor plan is where the garage is . The range had an overthe range fan/light which I replaced with a microwave light vented to the outside. the top photo is a scan of an island that lead to our desire to place one as indicated on the floorplan.

OK, OK here is another of Lindsey at the Virginia Beach Aquarium. In this shot she has the seal following her hand in circles inside the tank.

The garage is coming right along. We have all the drywall up except piece work under this wall. I will not get that done until power for the heat is run and this new doorway is opened up. If you look close the right wall has been finished with a textured paint that is half dry and splotchy looking.
